Au Ladakh, cet homme fait tourner son moulin à prières. C'est un objet utilisé par les bouddhistes, constitué d'un cylindre rempli de mantras (prières). Selon les croyances, actionner un tel moulin a la même valeur spirituelle que de réciter le mantra, la prière étant censée se répandre ainsi dans les airs comme si elle était prononcée. C'est d'ailleurs souvent le cas, car il n'est pas rare de voir les gens réciter les mantras en faisant tourner les moulins.

In Ladakh, this man turns his prayer wheel. It is an object used by Buddhists, consisting of a cylinder filled with mantras (prayers). According to the beliefs, this has the same spiritual value as reciting the mantra, the prayer being supposed to spread in the air as if it were spoken. This is often the case, it is not uncommon to see people recite the mantras by rotating the wheels.
