For the last day of Women's History Month, I would like to honor Women Veterans and those who are still on Active Duty. I was honored to photograph the event for the Inaugural Women's History Month brunch at Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial. I also heard stories from women who paved the way to allow women to serve on board ships and in combat zones and lead key leadership schools. I'm a big storyteller and I think everyone has or can cultivate a compelling story. I also believe a lot of great stories go untold that need to be told. I was raised by a single mother, so I owe all I am to a woman. My father dipped out like a coward and left my mom (rest her soul) to figure it all out. I wouldn't be the man I am today without her and women like her, and that's a fact. Also in the Honor Guard in D.C., when I did funerals (over 200), I don't recall doing any for female veterans for some reason, but women served proudly alongside me. The wall of veterans who served line the walls of Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial, and you get a chance to hear their stories. I recommend you check it out. My heroes are NOT in Hollywood, they are in real life. I respect those who really did it and really sacrificed. I try to represent less than 1% of the population who served. I support those who gave up their True self" to save and help others. If you strive to serve, you will be remembered.
