I’m back at site now after almost a month of traveling, and it feels strange but good. today will probably be a slow one as i get settled in. no diving or saving of the world today. oh darn. perhaps a walk over to Tofinho is in order.
then it's into the office for some data handling (the proper kind) where i might be able to name a manta! that'll be super cool.

"MMF researchers were the first in the world to produce abundance estimates for a monitored population of manta rays. In 2011 MMF released a study estimating that over 1,400 manta rays were using the coastline of southern Mozambique, making it one of the largest aggregation areas for manta rays on the planet. Researchers are now examining the home range size, habitat use and movement patterns of this population."
just before dinner, Jess the turtle chick, gave an amazing speech about the life and struggles of the 5 species of turtle found in the mozambique area. amazingly a lot was to be learned!! Now it is off to a movie night at Mozam beats and an early night before tomorrow begins.
