I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that today was my first day of summer. I’m a little lost without my strict routine, governed by school and homework and waking up early. Here’s a few tips (both for you guys and myself) about starting out summer.
Get sleep, but don’t sleep in too much. Try to go to bed at a decent time and wake up at a decent time. Sleeping in a ton confuses your body, and your days will feel super short because you seem to have much fewer hours of daylight than there actually are.
Try to exercise every day. This is really hard for me, but I always feel better when I’m able to be active every day. Plus, exercise has loads of health benefits. (Ugh.)
Eat. Try to eat healthy and the equivalent of three meals a day. For example, I don’t usually have a big lunch, but I eat a lot of snacks (ex. carrots, yogurt, etc) during the day to balance it out.
Clean out your school folders. I hate doing this, but I love being able to enjoy my summer without always seeing my backpack in the corner of the room waiting to be cleared out. I save notebooks, but throw away worksheets and loose notes that aren’t important.
Hang out with friends! I have this bad habit of forgetting to talk to anybody over the summer and I swear I’m going to change it this year.
Happy summer! ♡ Theo
