The one special thing being the "special" ones was getting the chance to live with Scottish foster families which we had to choose upon arriving at the college. Unfortunately my memory has failed me; I don't remember how Nasrul and I chose ours - it could be that we just got the "left-over". The only thing I recall is arriving at the flat accompanied by our Physics teacher Mr. Munn (though strictly speaking it should be Dr. Munn, given his Phd.).
The flat was situated in an area south of the Glasgow city called Pollokshields, highly populated, in my eyes, with the Pakistanis and kebab shops. We were welcomed warmly by Mrs. Wallace and her daughter in law, name I have forgotten. Mrs. Wallace was a petite Scottish woman I'd guess in her late 50s or early 60s, speaking with a relatively mild Scottish accent, though at the time it sounded gibberish to me. The idea of living with a foster family however short-lived. It turned out we were to live by ourselves "alone" in the flat. It's party time
