Hey lovely!! Sorry this isn’t quite related, but in that second picture - the underlay lines are different colors, why is that? :D is there some fanciful and amazing trick I don’t know about??

Haha probably not. When I'm pretty far along on a sketch and i realize I don't like a particular element, I often start a new layer and redraw the element in a different color to differentiate it from the rest! Then, if I like it better, it gets squished down to the previous layer. So you can see from this that I didn't like the first arm I drew. :P

I always meant to ask - when you ink w/markers, do you colour with markers, too? Like over the lines? Sorry if this is a dumb question xD I’ve never been brave enough to try marker colouring.

There is no such thing as a dumb question!!

The answer is that I actually haven't used markers to ink with much, up to this point. I typically use microns, which play better with lots of different media. For this piece, though, yes! I am coloring with the markers. They're Copics (which are alcohol-based) so they bleed into one another a bit as you go. I'm hoping that the marker-inked lines will recede into the background while the micron lines come forward. It's working out so far! The other times I've inked with markers to get colored lines, it's been ok! Just let them dry a bit first.

Really when it comes to working with alcohol-based markers you just have to test things out first. I ran out of microns last year, for a little bit, and tried using a permanent marker instead. That didn't work well.

You should definitely try playing with markers!! I started with a cheap pack of Crayola supertips and went on from there. I love markers.

It's really easy to do that to yourself. Eri's really bad at it ;D Though he's getting better these days. (fuck Eri, getting 1000+ notes on his Homestucks) I used to be, but at this point, 5 years into my education, I feel like it's sink or swim so I'm just gonna draw art until I die or someone starts paying me for it. LOL

Nothing mind blowing! Just a department store job. We're doing price changes for two weeks because the company's pricing structure is changing. If we do well we'll hopefully be kept on! (they expect to have a need for more people afterward so it's not just empty promises)
