I have a couple of things to note about today’s fun find, featuring Ms. Codex 275, a collection of poetry from 17th century Italy.
1) The poetry has a beautiful and delicate layout 2) The lines of poetry end with a decorative flourish 3) A second hand has gone back to cross out the beautiful lines of poetry 4) Did this second hand also add to the end of this poetry manuscript? 5) The first hand’s penmanship and layout planning was much better than that of the second (or third) hand
