Hey Babe! Those are great questions in the Fanfic Ask Game and hard to chose from! Would you answer questions E (I See You), G and N for me? 💖
Oh, wow, babe!! Thank you so much for sending me such great questions! And thanks for thinking of me. This is awesome! I’m hugging you right now! Whaa, this is so great!
All right, l start with your first question:
E: If you wrote a sequel to ‘I See You’, what would it be about?
Ha! That’s not so easy to answer! I’m smiling at my screen and I think really hard to come up with a good answer for you, babe. That story got super long for a one-shot and the end is kind of rushed to complete the story with an epilog. So, I would work on a longer end, like a second part to flesh out the first months for Steve and Danny.
If I wrote a sequel I would want to write how Danny and Steve get along after they’ve fallen for each other on first sight. It’s passionate and intense but the routine of the daily life takes over at one point. I would want to be with them during all the phases of getting used going steady, to be exclusive. Steve and Danny would help Kawika with the house and Steve would definitely be with Mary when she has her appointment for the bride’s dress fitting because somehow at that day everyone is busy otherwise and then Danny has to come along too because Steve’s too insecure and nervous and emotional seeing his little sis in a white dress. And I guess I want Danny to have a dog and Steve will find a way to get him a cute stray because Kawika knows people who take care of neglected animals and so on…and maybe, maybe they talk about having kids, getting married and growing vegetable in the backyard. Just freaking, awesome happiness.
G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
I’m wired like a straight line from A to B with no short cut and no detour. I need to write every story from start to finish. From scene to the next following scene. I have ideas and flashes of dialogues, of moments and I take notes to be able to insert all of this into my story. In my head, I’m always further ahead and I play with the end scene while my actual writing takes me painstakingly accurate from one scene to the next. I always get surprised what comes up while I’m at it. I’m astonished about the scenes I can write myself into. I never would have guessed I would deal with them when I start. But it always has to happen according to the same pattern. Yes, it’s always like this: I start and I keep a steady pace into every following moment. Always. Everything else messes me up emotionally and my inner writer’s compass fails.
N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?
Yes, indeed, there is.
My Shapeshifter AU. I’ve had this idea in 2017 and I made this post. I remember so well how this idea hit me and I wrote that snippet in no time. And since then I carry this AU with me. I don’t feel ready yet although so many details are there already. But if there was a possibility to pluck the idea from my brain and some crazy great robot would be able to read my soul and transform my feelings into words to create my story - hell yes! I would want that! But that doesn’t exist, so…I know what I’m going to do one day. Damn.
I hope you liked my answers and thank you again so much, babe, for your ask and for your interest! That was so much fun to answer these questions! Big hug for you!
