mssammysam reblogged your post “So some time ago during the lockdown when we couldn’t go to the store I ordered some stuff from Lush, and I got a lip...”
#👀#there's this weird not-quite-a-smell#like an acrid non-smell#it makes my lungs kinda... staticky? and tight?#but I'm sure is olfactory#because it goes away when I cover my nose and mouth with a handkerchief#and NOBODY ELSE ever smells it#i will randomly pick up the smell#and tell people#and they look at me like they have no idea what I'm talking about#and i feel crazy#and wonder if I'm hallucinating#IS THAT WHAT THAT IS?!?
It’s possible! It might be a smell that isn’t very strong so everyone else doesn’t even notice it (they might smell it but it just becomes ‘background static smell’ and they don’t register it) but you register it and it’s annoying.
Although the staticky and tight lungs make me think of asthma so I’d check out if it’s something you’re actually allergic to in some forms (allergies come in many shapes and sizes, it doesn’t have to make you sneeze or cause rashes or generally cause big reactions, it can just have a weird effect somewhere, like tingling of mouth or weirdness of throat or lungs - but also allergies can very well not show up in allergy tests, despite giving you symptoms. That’s what mine do, so nobody knows what they are. Yay.)
