Chief Mountain from a View Along Montana Highway 17 by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views across a nearby forest with Chief Mountain as a distant backdrop. This is along Montana Highway 17/ Chief Mountain Hwy not too far from Glacier National Park and the border with Canada/Alberta. My thought on composing the image was to use the graveled road as a leading line into the image and forest. I wanted to minimize what I felt was negative space with the overcast skies and move the horizon a little higher into the image. I also felt that would bring more of a prominence to the Chief Mountain peak.
