The pain is temporary. The summit is forever. (Old mountaineering quote)
Started our climb at 6:30am, got to see the sunrise.
Tons of geographical changes
That right there is Chicken Out Ridge, and it is well-named. It’s all climbing without gear, and I am very afraid of heights and dying painfully.
Final descent from Chicken Out Ridge, immediately preceding the final brutal ascent to the peak.
So so steep 😫
Reached the summit I was pretty sure I couldn’t reach. Peak of Mt. Borah is the highest point in Idaho.
My wonderful hiking partners are 22 and 25 years old, somewhat intimidating for a 46-year-old to keep pace with.
Celebration shots and rest
Toughest hike I’ve ever done.
Only halfway done at this point. Coming down was much harder than the climb up.
Starting back up Chicken Out Ridge, so much more exhausted than when we crossed the first time.
Pictures from Mt. Borah, the highest mountain in Idaho, which we ascended this past weekend.
