Pearls of Wisdom from Successful Leaders
Come check out Rebuilding Communities from Brooklyn to Mt. Morris by Greg O'Connell, Class of 1964, CEO Red Hook Waterfront Properties.
Greg O'Connell, the son of a Queens's teacher and police officer, spent four memorable years in Geneseo majoring in education. He returned to the city to live and teach and work as a detective in Brooklyn and Harlem. He watched the Red Hook area of Brooklyn, cut off by another Robert Moses parkway, fall into decay and ruin. Inspired by Jane Jacob's seminal work and book on The Death and Life of Great American Cities, O'Connell started investing in Red Hook waterfront properties and rebuilding commercial sites and apartments. His efforts paid off and Red Hook is now a thriving urban community. Most recently, he returned to the Genesee Valley and started investing in run down properties in Mt. Morris. Another success story is unfolding as O'Connell's work is impacting people and families and communities in Upstate New York. One person can make an amazing difference. Be inspired by another Geneseo graduate! Special Guest Speaker: Greg O'Connell, Class of '64, CEO, The O'Connell Organization
