Inalla’s Extra Wizards (of the Coast?) or MTG PSA: How to end a turn -- AKA: The Importance of Being EndTurn
An oldie but a goodie, and relevant for the new Tilonalli’s Summoner in Rivals of Ixalan.
Whenever a token is made that exiles or sacrifices later in the turn, it’s a “delayed trigger”. The good news about a delayed trigger is that it only triggers once, so normally uses the word “next”. [Yes, I put my punctuation outside of the quotation marks, and yes I know that’s not . I did C++ in high school, what is in the quotation marks should be verbatim, imho.] Because it’s set to go off on your “next” end step (or next combat step, etc), as long as the ability goes onto the stack, it won’t ever go on the stack again. This ability skews more into the red portion of the color pie, typically by way of “temporary” tokens or creatures that sacrifice themselves, Unearth, Dash, etc, but is not limited to just red.
So, if you want to use Inalla to get Wizard tokens that stick around, or if you want to use Sedris to bring back creatures that will eventually go to exile instead of the graveyard, Sundial of the Infinite and Glorious End are great cards without many alternatives. Just make sure that the delayed triggers do go on the stack, or in most of these examples you’ll be losing your creatures after just one extra turn. For instance, ending the turn just prior to the combat step means that your opponents Aggravate won’t force you to attack, but that the next end step is your opponent’s at which time the delayed triggers will, well, trigger.
