Hello! It’s been a little bit since I’ve made a dedicated post like this. This morning I received my first ever GLOSSYBOX package in the mail! If you don’t know, GLOSSYBOX is a beauty subscription box. A one-month subscription will cost you $21, 3 months for $58.50, 6 months for $111 or a year for $210. These are “recurring monthly billing” plans. The site boasts that each box you receive will have over $60 worth of items in them. The box I received this month included 6 items: a Purelei black hair scrunchie, a Mudmasky Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing mask (.7 oz), a BYBI Strawberry Booster 100% Cold Pressed Strawberry Seed Oil, a Kandi Cosmetics Pre Glow Up Mist (120 ml), Tree Hut sugarlips lip scrub, and one pair of the avant Hydra-Bright Collagen Eye Restoring Pads. The price breakdown: for the hair scrunchie I couldn’t find an exact price, but a 6-pack on their website retails for roughly $30, so I’d say about $5 for that. The Mudmasky mask full size (2 oz) retails for $64, so we could say the size we have is worth roughly $30, give or take. The BYBI Strawberry Seed Oil retails for $14.60 and is a full-size item. The Kandi Cosmetics facial mist is worth $18.25 and is also a full-size item. The Tree Hut scrub is worth $5.99. The Avant eye pads retail on their site for $16. That gives us a grand total of $89.84, definitely above the $60 total value it says to offer. Now for my thoughts: The first thing I noticed is that their May box is sold out - fair enough. But the box I received is a January box. Which would normally be totally fine, except that most of these items are for hydration for dry, winter skin. As we are fast approaching summer, my oily skin definitely does not need all that extra hydration. For those of you who have dry skin year-round, this could be great. But you get a mystery box usually so it’s hard to tell if you’d get this box. I’m also not too sure if I’m thrilled about the mystery box idea. I like the idea of not knowing what’s in the box, but I wish it could be a dedicated same-month box so it’s applicable to the current season/month/time, whatever. I like that most items are full-size, but I would’ve liked for all of them to be. I wonder what the actual value for the Mudmasky is, and if it’s actually retailing for roughly half the price of the full size. Shipping was fast and the packaging is super cute (I’ll insert pics in my next post). Overall, for the price, number of items, total value, variety of items, and the ease of ordering and shipping, I’d recommend it to you. I just wasn’t super stoked about the items for my specific skin type. Just keep that in mind if you do decide to go ahead and subscribe to GLOSSYBOX. P.s. I can always use a black scrunchie and a lip scrub, so that’s a plus. I hope you enjoyed reading and found this review useful! Stay well.
