Have I spoken about the concept of abyss mimics before? If I haven't, Well I will now!
Here's an example of a growth cycle and general info, mimic used in example is named 'Switch':

Mimics, as you might have guessed, mimic what they see, or take inspiration from what they see. Method of reproduction is asexual, as in they literally fall apart into several blob stage mimics upon death caused by old age. They grow fast and live long, as Abyss creatures tend to. While not biologically having any genders, because of the mimic ability, do choose preferred pronouns(which their language doesn't have, just with other languages). It is unknown how, but they have the capability to understand and write in any language they hear commonly. To expand upon that, Mimics cannot actually speak, however they can mimic animals(meows, hisses, barks, hoos, whatever they hear). It has been proven that Mimics only mimic(ha) what they like, i.e: when given a choice between garbage and crystals, most would mimic crystals, though those that mimic garbage(or just certain parts of it) also appear.
As in communication, they use sounds they heard to show emotion(varying in pitch and length of sound) and signs to actually communicate. Most of the signs they use is 'spoken' with their hands and crouching/jumping, however signs that use the legs also exist. It has been noted that basic Mimicsign has been based off of slugsign(rain world, rain world), but with way more signs. It has also been noted that when a mimic doesn't have a sign for something, it will quickly think of a sign that would fit, then seek agreement with other nearby mimic, if there are any around(upon disagreement, the other mimic can come up eight another sign for the action/object and the two can come to a compromise). Sometimes the receiver is also included in the signs([You],[Are you lying/joking??] are some examples)
In terms of names, they do have names! Either given to them or made up by themselves. With the second option, it will most likely be another sign that already exists. A mimic named anything related to water(or equivalent of it) introducing itself would sign [Me][Name][Water].
Example: Mimic named 'Sol'(name given by another) introducing herself. [Fun fact about this mimic and in general! : Mimics do not show weight easily for better survival, so by mimic standards, Sol is very overweight(She is loved for it!!!), And other mimics tend to use her as a pillow)
In terms of height, fully developed mimics vary between 2' to 3', however taller and shorter mimics have been documented(tallest mimic ever found was 4'2; shortest mimic ever found was 1'6.)
The diet of a mimic consists of basically everything they think and want to eat(this is important). Mostly fruits and other small creatures have been documented as chosen diets, however there have been cases where a mimic would be able to eat almost everything (basic diet + rocks, trees, grass, ect.) [Fun fact: Sol(the mimic mentioned before) has the ability to eat anything they don't consider part of the walls and floor. That's why she so chubby c:]
Mimics are very social species, physical contact is basically a need for them! If you ever encounter a mimic(that is friendly towards you) you will most likely get a hug or just physical affection from them. It's also the main reason they live/travel in packs, friends are a must for both survival and hugs!!! C:
Anywaysss now that I got the info out of the way, here's my three little guys!!!!!
Switch was mentioned earlier, he based his looks on TSAMS and TLAES as also mentioned earlier, is 3'5 (which is fairly tall for mimics) and anything other than that is pretty average. In terms of personality, he's a total sweetheart, but has his sassy moments :) oh and also he mimics cat sounds. He scurries around the TSBS line of dimensions, not exactly wild but not exactly tamed
Miser wasnt mentioned earlier... And they are kity..... (Fully based their looks on cats). They are actually a mimic belonging to Void(who you may have seen on one of my posts), hence the collar. They're 2'2(shortie lol) and for mimics, pretty slim(mostly bc they refuse to eat anything other than crystals...). They mimic hyena sounds, for some reason.
Sol: fat fella. love her. Her name was given to her by Sunset(I have not mentioned her on the blog a lot, you prob don't know her), but she is a Wild mimic living in a village located on the outskirts of the Sunlit region(regions are explained in a post from a while ago, check the 'soul's abyss' tag). local pillow.
