She smiles. She frowns.
She is a whole ass human being.
To give her to me in a TV show out of all art/entertainment mediums is so rare and I’m so grateful.
I don’t see multi-dimensional female characters like her these days in TV. If I do, they get taken away from me before I can even explore them for their multi-dimensionality. For their flaws and their conflicts and their emotions. For their realism. For their humanness. For their consciousness expansion. For their depth.
I miss it so I will hold on to multi-dimensional whole-ass human being female characters like Willow Rosenberg for dear life because they’re few and far between and female representation on TV is side-storied or cancelled as easy as changing the channel.
My BUFFY REWATCH recaps for the episodes ‘S06E21/S06E22’ are due. I’ve worked on them for a long time and I’m extremely proud of them because I feel I have thoroughly encapsulated the true depth and capacity of Willow Rosenberg as a character that I believe holds the greatest character representation and development in all of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’.
I will release both these recaps on my birthday which is in 4 days from now. And I really hope ya”ll are fucking ready because this is my best Buffy meta yet. Once you read them, you may never see Willow the same way again. But you will love her much more. I can promise you that because I’ve found a way to express how I truly feel about this character without undermining her personhood but rather expand on it. I wanted to be able to explain how much I love her for both being a villain and a hero - simultaneously. I have. It is my best written work yet on this character. It is. And once I release them, I won’t be going any further in my BUFFY REWATCH series. Season 6 is the end.
