I'm listening slightly out of order to Behind the Bastards so I've already heard the Darkest Episode. It's bad but less explicit than I'd braced myself for (this may say more about my frame of reference) and lightened a bit by Robert's sick sense of humor + a genuinely encouraging life trajectory for one of the child survivors.
Im glad to hear that! I had confidence they would find a way to discuss it with the appropriate gravity and sensitivity while also cracking Robert's classic horrible jokes to lighten the tension a bit, Behind the Bastards is nothing if not experienced at threading that needle, but I think it was...the waldorf schools episodes? where they touched on this same thing possibly?
either way Ive been bracing for it to be about the same level of bleak/dark as the elan school or boy scouts eps? or similar like, industrial levels of child abuse eps. and I'll be able to listen to it eventually, it just keeps feeling like, maybe not the best thing to listen to at like 1am while fighting off The Depressive Spirals, yknow? But I'll finish it one of these days and catch back up.
I appreciate you letting me know some of what to expect !
