"No need bein' shy, cher. Ah seen it all b'fore."
That was… different. Voluntary may be the better word there, both suffice in the end as Deane worries his teeth over his bottom lip gently. Playing good isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. Fingers shake when they lift to the hem of his shirt – much like the rest of him is shaking. He’s close to tears or maybe already is crying. Tom’s voice is so gentle and maybe that’s what fucks the Cajun over the most. The way the other acts and his actions. A shiver of disgust runs through him as he stops. Pauses and hiccups softly.
“Ah don’ want this.”
“I don’t wanna freak you out or anything, but I wasn't sure if you knew there's a raccoon in your shower.”
“Nothin’ t’worry ‘bout. Tha’s Eric.” Let out as Deane takes another bite of pizza and seemingly for no reason takes out another out of the box and places it on a third plate. It’s for Eric when he decides to descend the stairs for food. Which he always does. “He wandered in couple’a months ago, kin’a m’roommate in a way? Actually Ah don’ even know if it’s th’same raccoon e’ry time. Ah named ‘em all Eric.”
"It's a good thing I got my library card. 'Cause I am checkin', you, out. "
“Tha’ ain’ gon’ work on me, y’nerd.”
But it did. It certainly worked and Finn is one step closer to his goal.
“I’m going to go read a book with pictures.”
“We talkin’ ‘bout porn ‘r a magazine? ‘Cause count me in f’th’porn.”
“Treading water is the same as drowning, for people like you and me.”
The Cajun is silent as he listens to what JT has to say. He always is, really. Deane admires the man for who he is and what he stands for. That mind is brilliant and he’s never really come across someone so accepting before. He doesn’t make the younger feel judged in any way which is odd to him – wasn’t that the way of bikers? No, Dixon is stereotyping and he should know better than to do that. “So wha’ y’treadin’ water fer?” Deane asks after a moment, gives John a simple nudge with his shoulder from how they are sitting. “Y’always look li’ y’gettin’ ready t’rabbit off.”
"Kind of a taco twofer thing."
“...--tha’ s’posed t’make sum’lick’a sense t’me, Jax?” All he’s got is confusion written all over his face, like he walked into half the conversation and the reaper thinks he’ll still understand. Then he’s shrugging and letting out a laugh. “Ah got’a taco f’ya.”
“How long y'been havin' 'ese nigh'mares?”
He just wants to get some sleep -- real sleep. It feels like it’s been years since and Dixon is about to break. At least the Cajun is snuggled up real close to Tom right now, not alone in this damn house that keeps spooking him. “Couple weeks Ah think? Maybe’a bit longer. Can’t tell no mo’.” Mumbled out as he worms his way a little closer and settles in. He’s already jolted awake once with tears prickling past his eyes, he really doesn’t want it to happen again.
