IMPORTANT UPDATE
This month's Open Screen will take place at 6PM and run until 7PM.
Normally we will meet at 5:15pm, but there's another thing happening, so we were bumped up to 6pm.
Thanks again to those that have submitted! Spread the word!
We made a new poster ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OK, so, Muncie Open Screen has been cancelled one last time due to the extensive preparations that need to be done for the Civic Theatre's production of Peter Pan.
WE WILL BE BACK IN MARCH! I swear... I guess. Please continue to send us short films and spread the word. After this we should be able to keep a more regular schedule.
Sorry again for any inconvenience this may cause anyone.
WE STILL EXIST! SEND US YOUR MOVIES!
Send us whatever you got! We want to show your stuff on a giant screen in a beautiful venue for a few people.
Don't have any movies to share? GO MAKE ONE! Use your phone! Film your cats! Subtitle their meows so they're talking about existentialism in the face of mediocre talking cat films on YouTube!
Director Chris Kosinski will be presenting his documentary about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in D.C. on his website for free tomorrow in honor of Veteran's Day. Read the synopsis below and then click the link above to watch.
Their Story. Her Design. A Nation's Memorial. Ball State University and Christopher Kosinski present a story about the development of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and it's unforeseen ability to heal a nation from one of the most controversial conflicts in U.S. history. Produced, Directed, & Edited by: Christopher Kosinski Executive Producers: Kayla Sprayue & Rebekah Hobbs Director of Photography: Shane Dresch
If you live in the Muncie area you can also catch the hour long film on PBS WIPB-TV on November 20th at 10pm or November 22nd (Thanksgiving) at 9pm.
Chris came by Muncie Open Screen last week to present the trailer and promote the screenings. If you have your own screening you'd like to promote, consider submitting your trailer through our submission form.
Holy crap it's cold! How about you come inside and watch free movies?
Three short films and a trailer tonight starting at 5:15pm
We have...
Pumpkin Seeds by Jeff Spot, about a telekinetic pumpkin.
Midwest of Eden by Jill Hackney, about a hitchhiker... or James Dean.. or a carwash... or something...
Overdub by Jeanette Castillo, which takes a look at session musicians and how digital technology changed their work.
And we'll also be showing a trailer for Chris Kosinski's feature length documentary HEALING WALL, which will be showing on PBS in the next couple of weeks (I forget when, sorry! I'm in a rush!)
We've only got a week and a half left (I'm not doing that math) until the next Muncie Open Screen and we still have plenty of space for submissions!
Submit whatever videos you've got. We don't care what they are, just that you made it. We prefer videos around 10 minutes, but depending on how many submissions we get there's always the possibility we can play longer ones.
Why are you still reading this? Go submit your movie!
