My so-called charming "regression" energy is literally just an aesthetic preference, not a psych evaluation, I swear. 😭

Basically, I started noticing certain vibes that lowkey overlap with classic regression-associated traits—like

✅oral fixations

✅returning to familiar soothing behaviors under stress

✅seeking comfort or external validation

✅being a little more childlike or playful

✅ those impulsive emotional reactions

✅boundary-testing...

Of course, my own brain is probably doing some heavy lifting here, selectively zooming in on these things and slapping the "regression", label on them.

From there, I just build on it for my own creative nonsense—imagining the inner emotional landscape and background lore that we obviously don't get to see from the outside. But that's just me playing in my own sandbox, not me out here trying to diagnose the guy with actual psychological issues.

If anything, I think the exact opposite, that he's fiercely resilient, feisty as hell, and I definitely don't think he's experiencing anything like clinically significant or persistent regression. Those behaviors may simply be his go-to coping mechanisms, habits, or just the way he naturally lets his guard down.

The real problem here is that Matthew simply refuses to stop checking all the boxes. 💀

‼️Does anyone remember the MattDrai fic where Matthew was a contractor not a hockey player, and Leon bought a crumbling old house in St.Louis after he was traded/signed with the Blues, cause it basically looked like a German gingerbread house? ‼️

And there was a really romantic moment once the house was done and there was a green subway tile bathroom. I swear I had it saved on my ao3 but it is gone. And I've literally went through every page of fics under the MattDrai ship tag on the Archive. Did the author remove it? It was so good. I loved it. It made me cry and giggle and angry. It was great.

I guess I don't really want to rank ships — I rank dynamics 😂. A good writer/artist/editor can make me love almost anything.

Matthewsasha is really my thing. It's the whole dynamic: the chaos brat vs. the calm, composed, quietly confident leader, the way they balance each other, the fact that they somehow make sense together despite being so different.

Barkov went fishing and caught nothing

Barkov: I got into fishing over the summer, even though I didn’t catch a single fish. It’s relaxing when you cast your line into the water and just reel it back in, only to realize you didn’t get anything.

This summer the team strengthened its roster by acquiring forward Brady Tkachuk from Ottawa in a trade. Barkov is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming season.

Barkov: His brother Matthew is the single biggest player who has influenced my career in Florida. Now we’re getting an interesting duo together. We’ll certainly have to kill more penalties next season.

Last Saturday, Barkov enjoyed Eppu Normaali’s final concert at Ratina Stadium in the company of President Alexander Stubb. The pair received massive applause when they were shown on the stadium’s video screen.

Barkov: When he invited me to join him, there was really no other option but to say yes. I was probably the only Tampere native he knew, which is why I got the invitation, Barkov laughed.
