The Egyptian Museum in Munich
The wonderful Egyptian Museum in Munich has fascinated visitors since its opening in 2013 and has a number of incredible displays and regular exhibitions to astound and amaze visitors.
This really is one of the best Egyptology displays anywhere outside of Cairo.
The museum also houses a small, yet extremely interesting collection of objects and artefacts from the Babylonian and Assyrian cultures which is an added bonus of the admission to the Egyptian Museum.
In German this is actually the State Museum of Egyptian Art - Staatliches Museum Ägyptischer Kunst - and it’s visited by thousands of tourists each year.
Marvel at the Sphinx of Sesostris III, the intricate sarcophagus lid of Queen Sitdjehuti as well as the kneeling figure of Senenmut.
Probably the most famous artefact is the oldest glass in the world dating back to 1450BC that has an inscription of Thutmose III.
Probably one of the most unknown and underrated museum in Munich this is an Egyptian knowledge powerhouse that is well worth the (very cheap) price of admission which is around €7 to €8 per person.
Entry on Sunday is just €1 Euro, can you believe it?
