If you follow me on Twitter or visit this site, you are probably aware of my affinity for the Mutant Academy crew. With the exception of the Griselda gang, right now there is no underground collective in hip-hop that I appreciate more than Mutant Academy. Richmond Virginia’s Fly Anakin is one of the frontmen of the group, and he has already piled up a pretty impressive discography in his own right (and this is all well before his rumored collaboration with Madlib, scheduled to drop at some point in 2020/21-ish). He just dropped a brand new project, so cop At The End Of The Day now before it slips onto streaming platforms in the coming weeks, or months...

I want to put a mural on this wall but I am drawing a severe blank of what it should be a night time scene of. Like I don't know if I should do a video game reference, book reference, film & show reference, or a cheesy landscape.

If I do a game reference, which game? Sky:Children of the Light? ABZÛ? Pokémon? NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams? Unravel? Ori? Little Nightmares? FNaF? Undertale? Kirby? Minecraft? Dragon Quest? Sonic? Animal Crossing?

If I do a book, what kind of book? A classic like The Secret Garden? A reminder of childish imagination like Le Petite Prince? A traumatizing story of the horrors of war like the Song of Dragons Trilogy? A fun urban fantasy mystery like Skulduggery Pleasant? A story of growth and maturity like Ranger's Apprentice? A manga like Galaxy Angel or Jing: King of Bandits?

If I do a film & show reference, what should it be? How To Train Your Dragon? Lord of the Rings (potentially getting my dad to help me with the composition)? Yu-Gi-Oh? Sonic X? Dragonball? Cowboy Bebop? Ghibli films? The Polar Express? Ghostbusters? Indiana Jones? Pocket Dragons? Treasure Planet? D&D: Honor Among Thieves? Curious George? Hello Kitty Theatre?

Do I ultimately say fuck it and try to incorporate everything listed and then some? Or do I say fuck that and do something completely original to me?

I have many years to try and plan it as I need to get a base color down first. But it's a nagging question that I desperately need help with...
