15) Kiss in the rain.
No idea when he’d started dozing off, he woke again with a jolt- The light was still jittery, making the buzzing in the back of his skull louder, the pressure behind his eyes swelling. Showers had inevitably started pouring from the heavens, the heavy rain succeeding in waking the host where the light drops had not.
How long had he been standing here? He’d stopped counting the seconds passing when the sky started turning dark and the tips of his ears and nose cold. No moonlight either, the sky cloudy, dark and starless. While his eye sight was already horrible, the night just made it worse. The flickering lantern light above him not doing much to help him either. But he remained there, waiting.
Bestial hands gripped the wet fabric of his jumpsuit, twisting until it hurt. He could hear it now, wet footsteps coming closer. The rain stopped- Just over his head. He glanced up, a confused frown on his face. The rain washed away all other scents, he couldn’t smell him, but he felt his presence, the heat that he seemed to radiate. He couldn’t help but feel drawn to it. Him.
“Look- Just.. Get inside.” His creator sounded angry. He always sounded angry. Honestly he didn’t blame him. Their situation wasn’t one hoped for. Everything seemed to simply collapse around them these days. And the host was too exhausted to rebuild each time from scratch.
The impatient grunt was what had him turning to meet the man’s gaze, he held an umbrella over their head, but Way was already soaked to the bone. Still, better late then never.
“I know I shouldn’t have said what I did, but you can’t just run off.” Not impatient anymore, just tired. He could tell by the popped veins in his eyes that he hadn’t actually been getting any sleep. That’s the point where the beast started feeling guilty, taking a step closer to lean into him. He should’ve stayed, not let his temper get the better of him. This was Jeremy apologizing, in his own way, by showing he’d been worrying about him, afraid he might’ve been laying dead in a ditch somewhere, bleeding all his black walrider blood into the dirt.
Way swallowed, croaking out a hoarse ‘sorry’ from his tight throat, he was shivering, the cold autumn rain biting into his flesh. With their recent fight, the last thing he’d expected were warm lips on his cheek, pressing light and tender. He knew he didn’t deserve this, but it felt good to be forgiven.
The kisses trailed down until they’d found his lips, and as soon as they did he started responding. He held the kiss for as long as his little nano invested hands could keep the other close, pulling at him gently to leech off of his warmth. But his voice came once more, softer this time; “Look at you, you’re goddamn soaked..” A sigh came moments later, along with an arm wrapped around his waist. He was led inside with the promise of dry clothes and a warm bed, and an entire night to make up for worrying Jeremy Blaire.
