perhaps unfair to flaunt, but dizzy does rather believe that she has taken full advantage of pretty privilege, almost especially perhaps at work, where 90% of her job is simply to be pretty. she also doesn't fear anything happening because of it, strictly for the fact that this is likely the safest place to be if someone gets angry with her, because the people around will protect her.

though perhaps that doesn't apply when the person she's antagonizing is one of the protectors.

when she wanders over to ros, she doesn't intend to do anything but say hello, but someone moving a little too quickly behind her and giving her a shove sends her almost toppling on her heels and she lands halfway in the other woman's lap with a laugh. "well, fancy meeting you here, gorgeous. how are you? can i grab you a drink?"

"hey boss, any lasting damage?" it's her first time back to work since getting the hell out of the bunker, and she's finally starting to feel just a little bit settled back into normal life. might as well try and get herself settled back into the grind as well. normally, that would likely just mean showing up on the lust floor and doing her thing, but dizzy is, perhaps, a bit too much of a go-getter to really settle for the mundanity of normal work and normal operations.

she likes being involved. and she likes making the point any chance she gets that she's absolutely interested in being more involved.

she settles on the edge of his desk, legs crossed, and eyes him for a moment before letting her gaze drift away and around the room. "crow's nest is full to bursting right now, thank god i live there permanently. pretty sure half the town's tryin' to get a room at the place. maybe old delly should expand or somethin'. that fuckin' bug compound is apparently toast."

she can't really stand being cooped up. there's something in there about being a caged bird, some metaphorical bullshit that probably sounds real pretty comin' out of a mouth that isn't hers. she hasn't decided yet if she can even think of the words, let alone feed them to someone who might say 'em pretty. but she's sick of watching people pace and fret and worry, and she's sick of sitting and doing nothing. the fact that feary is here is tense, she can feel the tension in the room, bleeding out of people that definitely don't want to be anywhere near him, but dizzy has never been afraid of feary, not really.

so she walks past a group huddled together to sit next to him.

the flask in her pocket is gonna be empty by the end of the night, but she pulls it out and takes a little nip from it before she offers it out to him with a soft grunt of noise. for a moment, she doesn't really say anything at all, and then she finds words. "how long you think we'll be here? should we organize some light entertainment? we are in the business. and i don't think i can sit here and listen to people freaking out for much longer before i walk out of here and feed myself to whatever wild animal is apparently roaming."

"the damn phone just keeps disconnecting. have you had any luck? i just want to check on angel. mostly for us and partly so darcy'll stop pacing a hole in the floor since he already tossed his phone against the wall when it wouldn't connect." her eyes are following his path, back and forth, left and right. every once in a while, he'll reach up and run fingers through that stark white hair, mussing it further when it's already practically standing on end.

dizzy has taken what she thinks might be a total shutdown approach to this entire situation. mostly for her own sanity. partly because she would rather be a support beam than a crumbling wall. it's the only way she can really see herself getting through however long they'll be stuck in here without losing her own god damned mind in the process.

"you alright? do you need anything? snack? blanket? i have a flask of whiskey but i'm trying to conserve because i dunno if there's any other booze in this place."

"i'm coming to you not with problems, but with a proposition." she feels good to be back at work, and better still to see the people who she considers family after feeling like a ghost for a week off the back of just being sick. she had almost even missed that smarmy, sharp and pointed look from feary as she strolls across his office floor to stand in front of his desk, gently placing the glass she'd brought with him in an attempt to butter him up a little, the soft click of the glass on the wood a satisfying sound while she lets the statement linger for a moment.

"i wanna keep dancing, but i want to be a floor manager. i think i'm dedicated enough to the business and already have a great relationship with the girls, and i absolutely don't wanna be insulting to your family, but i don't want your sister to swoop in here and get a position like that when i've been here and dedicated the whole time."

"-- and then this move, but i'm stuck after that one. i don't think the song is right, but it might just be that the movement is off. i swear to god, a girl takes a week off and it's like she's forgotten how to dance completely." a sigh falls out of dizzy as she pauses the music playing from the speaker beside her and shakes her hands out. one of the very few things she has going for her in life is that she's always been great at choreography, she can put on a show, and that's what has most of her repeat customers requesting private time with her, but right now, recovering from being sick and feeling like she's been locked in a fog for the last week, she can't seem to get back into the swing of it.

"fuck it, maybe improv is the way to go té get back into it. it's not like half of my regulars can appreciate a good chassé anyway, right? they just want hot woman half naked jiggling." a groan leaves her, and she falls backwards onto her bed, tossing an arm over her eyes for a moment. "anyway, enough of my whining. sounds like you and darcy are all loved up again. how's that going?"

"sorry i missed the wedding, by the way, i have no idea what the hell i ate to give me food poisoning, but i have it narrowed down to fries from the diner or wings from work." dizzy has finally managed to pull herself out of said sickness, though, and is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. already, she's thinking about work, about getting back to making money and being extremely grateful to her past self for the little nest egg she's set aside in credits for just such an occasion.

as she wanders into the room with a glass of water and plops down beside dixie, she falls sideways and lets her head drop casually onto the other woman's shoulder. she's still tired, could definitely get a few more hours of sleep in just to chase off the last of whatever the hell this is, but she's bored and stir-crazy enough as it is.

"how was it? the wedding? beautiful? i mean, those two are basically the ultimate love story or whatever so i know people were jerking tears all night long."

the night is more alive than it's felt in too long, the world seemingly coming up to meet her in a place where she can feel, if not content, then at the very least settled. her friends, her best friends, her people, are alive and, while perhaps not well yet, they are getting there. outside the fence, people are slowly rebuilding lives and buildings, making the town a place that is once again habitable, if not livable. and business, as it tends to do in times of great disaster, is booming with people's desire to find escape in the arms of anyone who's willing to fall into them (for the right price).

dizzy thrives in this environment. she's a businesswoman at heart, and she knows that the pleasure of her company is worth pretty pennies, so she makes herself available, a hand to hold, a face to pet, lips and tits and ass to get lost in. the constant stream of hands and eyes almost makes her forget her own terror and loneliness.

as her body moves, the hands on her startle her only for a moment before she leans back into the touch, head falling back to hit a shoulder, movements shifting from carefree to provocative in a blink. "are you trying to forget, or looking for a night to remember?"
