The dark-skinned girl holds up her hands in apology, even though her head is still slanted at an angle away from eye contact. "No, I promise I'm not trying to insult you." Kilena taps a button on her wristwatch and the image inducer creating a holographic human image fades, revealing that she's a humanoid bird. "Not to sound rude, but..." She gestures to her face. "My eyes are back here, so to look you directly in the eye, I have to turn my head. I'm giving you my full attention, even if it looks like I'm looking away. Sorry!" She bows in apology then stands up, still looking at the other with what anybody else would consider a side-eye.

SLAP! (Open RP)

The slap resounds across the courtyard of the embassy, causing more than a few heads to look up from what they’re doing. The slapper is Kilena, and the one who was slapped is a member of another diplomatic envoy, desperately trying to cover up the bruise she left on him.

“I don’t care who your parents are, or what kind of protection you have. That doesn’t give you any right to insult the people of this world. Now...get out of my sight and take your toadies with you!” She fixes him with a withering glare and he quickly gets the message, retreating from her embassy.

She turns to the other person. “He’s gone now. I’m terribly sorry that he treated you that way. Please, come into the embassy and I’ll get you some tea and food, all right?” She offers her hand to the other.
