@muse-gathering ♥’d for Vanya who is missing some marbles
Dallas was...hot. Every time Vanya thought she acclimated to the weather, each day would be a degree higher which would prove her wrong. The farm was warm, but they didn’t spend a lot of time in the field with the hot sun baring down on them. The barn was more their style, for which Vanya was forever thankful for. Here in the city of chrome, the sun did nothing but shine which the metal could do nothing more than reflect. She felt like she was constantly being blinded, no matter where she looked. But Vanya wasn’t here to sight see. Instead, she needed to get more feed for the chickens as they were close to being low. Carl swore he put an order in, but with him getting busier, the jury was still out on whether he’d actually done it or not. Sissy would have come, but she wanted to stay home with Harlan, who was having a rough day. Hence why Vanya ventured into the city alone. There was a store here that the family frequented. Vanya walked through the door and it seemed that they already knew what she needed before she asked for it. The woman made small talk with the shopkeeper and thanked him as he loaded the bag into the back of the car. That was when she spotted the man in the streets. One look at him and she knew he was a character. An interesting fashion choice and a bit of a wild look about him. Underneath her first judgement, there was an itch in her brain. As though she knew him from somewhere. But did he know her? She made eye contact and smiled at him.
@muse-gathering sent: “Bringing hope and a smile wherever you go!” ( Haymitch for Effie)
“Well, that was surprisingly nice-” she pauses, eyes narrowing as she glances at Haymitch. “Was that sarcasm?”

@muse-gathering continued from here
The air was barely giving her shivers, no that was definitely happening before she even hit the outside. She was still trying to figure out that damn screen as she felt her back pressing against something cold and hard as she tried to steady herself, one of the cars in the lot, phone finally deciding to slip out of her grip and clattering onto the concrete. If her mind wasn’t so fuzzy she was sure an expletive of some sort would have slipped out her mouth, or maybe one did and she just didn’t process it.
She could feel herself tense when she got the feeling someone was watching her, groaning lowly at how it affected her already bruised body. A little slow to process what was said, she blinked as she looked towards the source of the voice. “J-just peachy,” she managed, voice all too shaky. Oh but that was so far from the truth. But she didn’t want to bother some stranger with her fuck up, she just needed to get home and cleaned up, forget about the whole mess.
It was fairly certain that the ones she’d gotten into said mess with were long go, believing her very much taken care of after the events that had unfolded.
Breathing was getting a little harder, the pain coming in waves and her legs seemingly gave up as she slid down the side of the car she was leaning against. “Fuck,” she muttered, head leaning back, eyes closing tightly.
