Quentin wasn’t concentrating as he walked into the common room, gaze fixed on his phone, and he staggered back a few steps when he walked into a warm, solid mass.
There was a loud cheer and Q blinked owlishly a few times, head cocked to the side in confusion. Eliot, who was standing in the doorway as well, pointed up at the ceiling and pouted, crossing his arms over his chest.
Q followed his gaze and grinned at the mistletoe above their heads, laughing awkwardly, despite the thrum of anxiety that shot through his veins.
He and Eliot had been dancing around each other for weeks with harmless flirting and lingering touches, But this was different. Q took hold of Eliot’s tie and tugged him down to cup the back of his neck and pulled him into a chaste kiss, smiling into it.
Quentin having no clue what was going on wasn’t a sight that surprised Eliot all that much. Quentin always looked like a fish out of water but also that magic worked for him. Of course, walking with his cellphone wasn’t something unique with Quentin but bumping into someone else looked like his style, just from first impression.
And of course people cheered. Not simply from the fact that Eliot had been calling dibs on Eliot from that very first day they met at the evaluation. But also because relationship was of some interest for the group.
Eliot let himself being dragged. He wasn’t going to lift Q to his level. And meeting those lips with his own, it felt like a memory. It wasn’t the first time they had done that. But the first time it was about them and not being drunk on emotions and prone to self-destructive actions. He however replied to the kiss not as chaste as it started, with the passion within him.
“If we’re to give the others a show, Q. It should be worth their time.”
