A fifty/fifty chance... There was a spark in the Shaolin's eyes, a hand raising to his chin to stroke gently with his index and thumb. He could only contemplate the way the other Kung Lao-- this young man's father, could win over Jade with such ease. He had to remember though: she had Kotal... A slight, ephemeral grimace expresses to the thought; at least there's one version of him who managed.
"A-Ah, yeah she did beat me twice." Kung Lao chuckled weakly. "She's tough, but next time, I'll leave her in awe at my skills, I know it." A confident, one of a kind smirk shows itself as he delights himself in his future victory as if it was truly upcoming.
This was strange, having a conversation with one such as Kung Kang. The idea of all these different timelines was weird enough, but this...this was somehow more so, but not at all unwelcoming. He couldn't help but feel an unknown sense of pride just looking at him, as if he was his actual...father...
Hearing himself get called the particular word made his smirk disappear and release itself with a calm expression. His ears remain open to how Kung Kang mentioned his alternate self. Momentarily quiet, he gave a soft nod and would soon raise a hand to give the other's shoulder a hearty pat and a light squeeze.
"Kung Kang, is it?" He reiterates for himself; his free hand rose to gently scratch at his cheek due to the name. It was definitely a name-- a good one at that. "I may not be the same Kung Lao you heard stories about, but if all of us from different timelines think alike in any way, then I think your father would be very proud of you."
