Dustfinger gave the stranger a rapid once-over, assessing the likelihood of his being trouble, which seemed pretty high.

He hadn't meant or wanted to cause a scene; the fire had just responded to his emotions and leapt up to protect him. He'd tried to get away as quickly as he could, but he'd obviously attracted attention.

"And if it was?"

There was no use denying it flat-out, if the stranger had seen what had happened. But he wanted to know his intentions before he said something he'd regret.

At first, it seemed an false reading and not worth paying any mind. Given that one recognizable presence wasn't felt. Really didn't care to investigate; at least until came the comms chatter of some trouble. That could only be explained by the mystery reading as well.

So reluctantly he slunk his way towards the commotion. Easily honing on the stranger who'd caused it. Grabbing at their nearest hand to pull them into the shadows between two dwellings. "Hold your breath an moment or they'll be able to keep tracking you."

All found within the Doctor's deep pockets as she fished through them, seeking out her sonic -- it had disappeared after her latest adventure. She last remembered using it against a Dalek.

Then...

She walked into someone and let out a yelp.

"My bad! Wasn't thinkin'. I've too much on me and a bad tendency towards losin' things."

The Doctor looked abnormally serious. Usually this Doctor didn't seem quite so grim.

"Cyrus. You look dead on your feet." He placed a gentle hand on his great grandson's arm. "Hate to say it, but you do."

He started to guide Cyrus away from whatever he'd been doing. "Come on, off to bed with you. Honestly, you're worse Susan when she was young."

That last part was said with a smile, but he still sounded firm in what he was telling Cyrus.

“If I knew that, I wouldn’t be here searching for them.” Wednesday responded, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice. “I have better ways to spend my afternoon.”

The Doctor turned the dials on the control console. He pulled down levers and was careful to keep the TARDIS as steady as possible. He didn't want his three companions to know the TARDIS was in flight as he had a surprise planned for them He checked his watch - they should be up soon and the TARDIS should be landing momentarily.

He stepped away from the controls and let the TARDIS commence its landing sequence. He was throwing on and adjusting the collar of his trenchcoat when he heard footsteps behind him.
