Ok, since you gave the go-ahead, I'll give you the infodump about the OCs. hope you don't mind! anyway

Dusk (they/them) and Dawn (she/her) were originally created by someone who saw the absolute abysmal way that Sun and Moon were coded and decided to create them some buddies after some squabbling. so, she made Dusk (Sun's friend, comes out during the day) and Dawn (Moon's friend, comes out during the night)

Dusk was created to be smart, fun, and caring, albeit kind of a pushover and shy. Dawn was created to be confident, calming, and sweet, albeit kind of impulsive and an airhead (also, equipped with a certain code that was made to calm down Moon's kill code)

these two animatronics got along with their designated celestial jesters as secondary daycare attendants, and for good reason. they ended up very close, albeit Dusk and Sun's playful and sweet friendship was juxtaposed by Dawn and Moon's "partners in crime" dynamic

BUT! THERE'S A DIMENSIONAL SPLIT HERE!

so there's two versions of the dimension they live in, which I will categorize as Dimension A (DA) and Dimension B (DB)

DA is quite standard, with Dusk and Dawn living alongside Sun and Moon, and the plot goes about what canon's like. all four AIs see each other as siblings in this dimension

oh, but DB is more interesting. see, something happened with Sun and Moon's creator in that dimension, and it was decided to execute him. unfortunately, since Sun and Moon contain a bit of his consciousness, they had to be axed off, too. leaving Dusk and Dawn in charge of the daycare, and said daycare changing to fit the new caretakers

why is this a dimension? because a while later, there's also a canon-ish dimension with Sun and Moon, that decides to visit for an unexplained reason. (this dimension I will call DC) and although they are met with hostility at first, tensions settle down quick and they are welcomed. and because of the circumstances, Sun and Moon do not see themselves as siblings to Dusk and Dawn, and vice versa
