I make mutavault into a creature and the ring tempts me. Mutavault becomes my ring bearer and at end of turn, it ceases to be a creature and I have a noncreature ringbearer. The next time the ring tempts me, do I lose my ringbearer if I have no other creatures, or will the noncreature land continue to be my ringbearer

When the ring tempts you, you have to choose one of your creatures to be your ring-bearer. When you choose a creature as your ring-bearer, it remains as your ring-bearer until you either choose another creature as your ring-bearer or you lose control of it.

Being a ring-bearer is a status any permanent can have, though, as long as it was a creature when it was chosen as a ring-bearer. It will maintain this status just like a creature would.

So, if Mutavault is your ring-bearer and isn't a creature the next time the ring tempts you, you'll have to choose a different creature if you control one. However, if you don't have another creature then Mutavault will stay as your ring-bearer.
