the screaming was the worst part, next to the knowledge that he had been the cause for so many deaths. the pleading as the audience- as his wife and kids - were sucked into the mouth - slash - eye of that... thing. like a coward - yes, he felt like a coward - jupe had ran and didn’t look back, not until he reached his office. and that’s where he hid until the monster, jean jacket, was gone. this captain would not go down with his ship, would not lose his life like the others. but he would still pay for it. walk of shame led him to the haywood’s bloody ranch. he explained everything, accepted the scolds that came from everyone in attendance, and took it with no retort. it’s what he deserved. the weight of his choices fell heavily on his shoulders, sitting at the haywood’s table, tired eyes traveling to the boy he had seen at jupiter’s claim barely two hours before ricky had lost everything. ‘ i fucked up, ’ was all he said, because the look on the kid’s face said it all. @guttersniper.
