Part One: Not So Alien.
From a boy who spent a large chunk of his life studying in an all boys school and socializing among the male species as well, I thought I would be a nervous wreck when I came to college. But in all honesty it was the complete opposite of what I was thinking. Yeah I mean the first two weeks were nothing but once things started rolling it became a whole lot more different.
Here I was thinking that I would be stepping into an alien world but later I realized that they were the humans and I was acting like an alien (ET phone home?). The ‘they’ I’m referring to is the female species, girls. I felt like I would be nothing infront of them. I always thought they were these innocent creatures untouched by the world’s weirdness (I was SO wrong), turns out they can be way more mean and deceiving than even guys. Even when they’re just socializing with you they seem to be up against you (or something). At the end of the day, it’s all fun and socializing with them isn’t that hard. Of course new experiences are always somewhat difficult but just a dash of confidence works perfectly here. If a guy wants to talk to a girl chances are she also wants to talk to him cause really we are all just looking for friends (nobody wants to spend two years as a loner I mean c’mon), it is as simple as that. I won’t lie sometimes it’ll be really awkward but you’ll get over it, that’s how you learn to live in this world.
‘The world is a harsh mistress’, you can’t please everyone so just be yourself and good things will come your way (eventually).
