i don't hate you. it would be so much easier to empty my heart of hope and grief if i did. but i really do understand why you feel the way you do, and why you've behaved the way you have. i can't hate you when my heart is full of compassion and self-recrimination instead.

i can only learn from my own mistakes, and do better in the future. i can only accept my role in my own sorrow. i can only do better, learn more, be more.
