Hmm.. i guess its always been a part of my life on some level. I’ve always had a reverence for nature. The line in Pocahontas that says “And I know every rock, and tree and creature, has a life, has a spirit, has a name,” however problematic the movie is, its what made me realize my connection to nature wasn’t ‘normal.’ I don’t consider myself an animist per se, but the notion that each nature thing has it’s own energy resonates with me.I’ve also always been deeply interested in mythology, folklore and other things of that type. And while that’s not strictly witchy, it lends itself and is intertwined with magic and witchcraft. And learning about witchcraft, contemporary and ancient, has long been an interest of mine too.I’ve always believed that there are things that science doesn’t know yet, and things that can be felt and sensed, but not proven, (yet.) But as for as calling myself a witch, and actively practicing, it was honestly probably tumblr that made me feel like I had the knowledge and tools in order to start. Something about how witchy tumblr is very culturally sensitive, inclusive, honest, and open.Anywho, that’s a little bit about my start. What about you? ✨
