It's been a long week away from Tenebrae and Ravus doesn't hesitate to seek Aerith out right away. Finding her out on the balcony of their shared quarters, he eases up behind her, arms wrapping around her waist to cradle her close. "Good morning, fleur bien-aimée ~"
There hadn't been much communication, merely what small updates Ravus could manage in his moments of quiet which were few and far between. The title of High Commander came at a labor intensive cost that spanned practically the moment he woke to the moment he went to sleep. At the very least she never went without a good morning or a good night from him.
The last message had been to tell her he was on his way home. Aerith, ever hopeful that she was, padded out onto the balcony to stand and watch just in case she caught sight of the incoming convoy that would signal his arrival back at Fenestala. 'On the way home' could mean he was scheduled to arrive today, or perhaps tomorrow, so keeping an eye out from the comfort of their quarters felt more sensible than pacing the entrance hall.
Though clearly she had missed something important. In the time it took for Ravus to walk through their shared space and walk all the way up behind her, Aerith barely managed to turn her head before he had his arms wrapped around her in a close and dear hold.
"Ah!" she startled a small sound, surprised, a little distressed too. So focused on looking out for him she had missed the very obvious footfalls of his approach. "You're home." Aerith cooed. Her body relaxed back against his familiar warmth, hands holding over where he hugged her. "I have awful news. You can never hire me to be a lookout, mon chou, it's devastating but I cannot be trusted with such an important responsibility. You slipped right past my post and now I'm captured~"
