Several Sentence Sunday

“You’ve written to Robert?” Liv asked, her tone deliberately casual.

Aaron nodded. “Yeah.”

She turned the envelope over in her hands. “Why?”

“He wrote to me.”

Liv gave a faint huff. “Right.”

Aaron didn’t say anything, just watched her. She had barely acknowledged Robert’s existence since he left, hadn’t said his name in months. Whether it was to spare his feelings or hers he didn’t know. Probably a bit of both.

“What did he say?” she asked after a moment, still not looking at him.

“Just… sorry for how he ended things.”

Liv nodded slowly. “Course he did.”

Aaron caught the way her grip tightened slightly on the envelope and the way her jaw clenched. She hesitated, then glanced up at him, quick and sharp. “Did he… did he say anything about me at all?”

“He asked me to give you a hug.”

Liv blinked, her expression flickering before she caught it. “And that’s it?” she said, a little too fast, like she hadn’t meant to sound bothered.

Aaron nodded. “That’s it.”

She huffed, setting the envelope back down. “Whatever.”

giving jet breathing problems in a wip of mine because i'm asthmatic but also because i like to use air as a symbol of freedom for jet (he lives high in the trees, he moves acrobatically, air is opposite to the rigid stone of ba sing se, etc.) so i like the concept of him struggling to breathe and relating it to the loss of his agency <3 stress-induced asthma is also interesting play around with for him because jet feeling stressed/not in control and THEN losing his ability to breathe and being frustrated and spiraling <3333 also smoke is an asthma trigger! you can read between the lines there <333333333
