What is your cat’s lore?
Oh, a chance to spam you all with cat pictures, delightful, thank you!
This is Kitkat. No, we didn't choose the name. He was an ex-stray we got from a rescue and we adopted him when my son was about 5, and he liked the name so we kept it.
Aliases include: TwatKat and KitCunt, usually when he is engaging in the behaviours seen in the first picture.
We think he is about 9 now? We think he was 2 when we got him. He lived on the streets before that, although fuck knows how he survived, because he lacks any common sense whatsoever. He once brought home a live mouse and dropped it in the living room, then just sat and watched as it ran to freedom while the humans chased it.
He was my husbands idea, and he picked him out because he looked like his childhood cat, who was by all accounts a complete sweetheart. Mr Z does 90% of the feeding and litterbox stuff. So, as you can imagine, Kitkat treats him with complete disdain and will not allow him to pet him. He only ever sits on my knee, usually when I need to be working, and very much on his own terms; I may be graced with his presence on no more than two occasions per week.
That is Mr Z's hand he is biting in the first picture. Recently my son tried to cuddle him and Kitkat bit his face.
The exceptions to this overt hostility are when he wants feeding, and when Mr Z comes home from work and takes off his shoes because he has a Thing for his feet.
He once fought a fox, and won.
He is scared of the birds in the garden.
He is a furry ball of idiocy and contradictions, and we adore him.
