(Yes, I figured it’s time to write those fics I owe you guys ;))

DE + Grocery shopping

“Sorry I’m late.” Elena practically ran towards where Damon was waiting next to the supermarket and gave him a brief kiss. He caught her and, instead of letting go, kissed her again, slowly, deeply. She pulled away half a minute later, eyes closed, a dreamy smile on her face.

“You know, if that’s how you’re gonna say hi every time I’m late, I’m never going to come in time. Ever.”

“Baby, you’re not going to come in time, ever, no matter what. But it’s true that this,” he kissed her again, “makes for a great reward for all the waiting I do.”

“I bet,” she winked. “Shall we?”

He took her hand in his, squeezing it lightly. “Let’s go.”

Damon loved those moments.

The truth was, Elena hated grocery shopping before. She would always get lost in the supermarket, or lose the shopping list and forget to get half the items she was supposed to, or buy the wrong kind of pasta, so the whole thing was an ordeal. Damon knew it like he knew everything about her, so when they first moved in together after they found out Elena was no longer sired, he figured it would be his duty in the family.

But after they both turned human and time suddenly became an issue again, they made an unspoken decision to spend as much time together as they could. And if some of this time would be during shopping, they weren’t going to complain.

So they navigated the rather confusing system of aisles like they always did. Damon was his usual OCD self and his shopping list was actually written in the order in which the corresponding sections were located. Elena laughed and called him a freak every now and then, but the way she kissed him affectionately whenever she learned something like that about him told a whole other story.

Of course, there were fights. Petty, insignificant, just for the hell of it. They would always argue whether juice had to come with pulp (“come on that’s the best thing about juice”) or without (Elena wouldn’t even dignify that with a response). Or whether they should get dark chocolate (“ugh, bitter”) or white chocolate (“that’s not even chocolate!” he kept unsuccessfully convincing her).

In the end, they’d buy both kinds of juice, and pretty much every kind of chocolate available, and more often than not they ended up hiding in an empty aisle and kissing, kissing, kissing.

And no, it wasn’t boring. Being happy never is. (Even in a damn supermarket.)

Taking care of the other while sick(From my long overdue fanfic meme)timeline: undefined futurepairing: DE obviously

When Damon Salvatore decided to turn human to spend a lifetime with Elena, he thought it through. He knew the implications of being human after over a century of being a vampire: physical weakness, inability to heal, no super speed, no compulsion.

But what catches him by surprise is a damn cold.

So yeah, he kind of ignored Elena when she told him to wear warmer clothes in the rain. I’ll be fine, he said, rolling his eyes. So now that he’s stuck in bed feeling all dizzy and weird and his voice has a rather non-sexy raspy quality to it, he knows she was right even without her saying “I told you so.”

No, she doesn’t say that. Instead, she fusses about making him as comfortable as possible, fluffing his pillows, covering him with three blankets and making sure his feet don’t stick out, bringing him soup and hot drinks and pills, and petting his hair to help him fall asleep.

He tries to send her away so she wouldn’t catch it, but she argues he probably got it because of the rain, not a virus, so he gets to fall asleep with his head in her lap, and she can tell if he has fever before the thermometer just pressing her lips to his forehead. 

It’s not exactly a surprise that Elena is caring (it doesn’t even need pointing out; it’s like saying that Caroline is talkative), but they’ve never been in a situation exactly like this, so he’s a little amazed at the devotion it has to take to wake up at two in the morning to check on him and cook an endless variety of (good) hot meals even though she kind of hates cooking.

He gets better quite soon, three days and he’s all right. Elena’s smile is radiant just before she kisses him, and he thinks he’s fallen in love with her a little bit more.

She can only hope that her voice conveys everything that she feels, things that she can’t explain even to herself yet, but which are there, never leaving, never fading away. She doesn’t know for sure how to name it, this desire to be close and never, ever leave, but she can’t stay apart from him another moment. It physically hurts her when he’s standing right there, but if feels like he’s miles away.

"Elena," he whispers, shaking his head incredulously, but she doesn’t give him a chance to argue. Not again.

"I know what I signed up for, Damon. I know what I’m doing. Why can’t you believe it?"

His forehead falls to her shoulder, sighing, and she wraps her arms around him, pressing him closer. “Because I don’t believe in miracles,” he says quietly, his voice muffled against her sweater. “But I’m starting to believe in this one.”

He turns his head to press his face to her neck, his eyelashes trembling against her skin, and it strikes Elena that she has never seen him this vulnerable. She smiles, running her fingers through his hair, enjoying the accidental butterfly kisses that tickle her neck as he breathes her in.

"Good," she whispers. "I’m afraid I can’t let you not believe it. I don’t- I don’t think I can be without you now.”

His kiss catches her off guard, but she responds immediately, with matching fervor and passion. “God, I missed you,” he pants when he pulls back for a moment and kisses her again.

"I missed you, too. I didn’t realize it at first, but I did," she answers, kissing him again. His impatient hands tug at her sweater, pulling it down, never breaking the kiss, and the next thing she knows, she's on his bed, Damon hovering over her. He’s looking her in the eye, trying to read if she means it, and she smiles. He kisses her, again, and she press him closer, never wanting to stop.

She can't lose him again. She won't.

Guys I'm super flattered but if you don't mind, I'll do the prompts tomorrow, it's past midnight and you probably heard of my week when I get 4.5 hours of sleep per day, so I'll work on the fics after my class tomorrow ;)

yeah, I thought Australian and Canadian promos were better than the American promos before, but the stupid baiting in 6x03 Australian promo apparently was a start of reversing that

Also, I've been freaking out long before this promo, this is the episode where Mama Salvatore's story begins and it's through Damon's painful memories, I remember that and freak out... then I realize Julie Plec wrote and directed the episode so I relax a bit thinking she'll probably want her episode to be so awesome she won't fail us ... then the fact that she will want her episode to be awesome itself freak me out like "Don't screw this up, Plec"!!

But I'm staying positive :D
