Genkaku Picasso (幻覚ピカソ)
Genkaku Picasso (幻覚ピカソ, meaning “Hallucinatory Picasso”) is a manga series created by Usamaru Furuya. It was featured in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine, Jump Square, from September 2008 to April 2010. The series was compiled into three tankōbon volumes and was licensed for English publication in North America by Viz Media under the Shonen Jump label.
Plot: Hikari Hamura, a 17-year-old known as "Picasso" for his drawing skills, survives a helicopter crash that kills his friend Chiaki. Post-accident, Chiaki reappears as a tiny, winged version of herself, living in Hikari's pocket. She tells him he must use his art to draw people's "hearts" to prevent himself from rotting away. Reluctantly, Hikari helps his classmates by drawing their psychological troubles as surreal images, then entering these drawings with Chiaki to understand and resolve their issues.

I highly recommend this manga. The stunning art initially drew me in, but it was the story and characters that made me fall in love with it. I read it on viz.
Sometimes a picture can tell more than a thousand words.
