She could have been right, maybe it wasn't funny.

Cyrus under any other circumstances would have agreed, but this time he couldn't find purchase on the resolute stoicism he so often portrayed.

It'd simply... slipped from him. Like the short exhale through his nose, a modicum of a laugh.
