They did! Which is one of the reasons why I refuse to do it for my child.

It was devastating to me. I felt betrayed by finding out everyone continued to lie to me for years and I felt stupid for continuing to believe after classmates kept saying Santa wasnt real.

Idk, I just feel like the concept of giving without expecting anything in return could be taught in a way where you dont have to deceive.
