Is it true that they're letting it burn instead of just putting it out? I heard that like twice.

But, I've never heard of anyone doing a controlled burn this close to, like, where people freaking live. Usually when they do that it's really tightly controlled to make sure it doesn't burn into populated areas, and from what I've heard, this fire isn't under control. Idk that would be incredibly irresponsible of them to do, unless I'm missing something? From what I've read they're trying to contain it, but what with the forest being so dry, it was basically a tinder box waiting to go up. I sure as hell hope they're not just letting it burn jfc
