Now here's something you don't see me doing everyday. Trying a different type of food. So part of my job is teaching people how to code iPhone & iPad applications. After teaching I was invited to go out to lunch with them at Persepolis. Persepolis is a Persian cuisine restaurant. It was free and I was hungry so of course I took the opportunity. We all ended up getting the lunch buffet which had a couple of things to eat.
I ended up getting the fish(which I can't remember the name of), the rice with cheese on top(what?), and their Soltani, which is their marinated beef filet. The Soltani was by far the best thing on the buffet. The fish was so so dry and the rice was bland with the non melted cheese on top didn't help its cause. Now something that wasn't on the buffet but was unlimited was their Nan-e Barbari, or as we call it, bread.
Think of flatbread with salt and pepper on top. It was so delicious. I ended up just eating that with their marinated filet as everything else just wasn't tasty. Finally we ordered some Baklava as you can't really go to a Middle Eastern restaurant and not order some baklava.
If you're not sure what baklava is, its basically a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey. Its a Middle Eastern and Asian specialty. It was my first time trying it and I loved it.
The lunch buffet has variety and its only 13 dollars a person so its a good value. I'm sure the dinner is much much better so I think i'll be back. Also be prepared to smell upon leaving. The smell of the food really sticks to your clothes so have some perfume or cologne on deck.
