I've seen nanagosho(?) a few times, its a fun relationship to consider! I always think that Shoko was the only person Nanami stayed in touch with after he left, even though Gojo was the first he called when he decided he wanted to come back.
Yes!!! See - I'm playing around with some ideas for Black Hole Fantasies because it's not a complete fix it but some people do survive, and I quite enjoy the idea of co-parents-to-something-more-and-it-has-history
There's not really a focus on romance in the fic tho, because it's very Tsumiki & Megumi & Satoru focused (with a bit of Shoko and others on the side) and focused on their dynamic as like...a three person unit with other people involved in that unit - like, I do think the Fushiguros consider Satoru to be the closest Adult Figure in their lives, they just also have others they're close to
But! I do know that, even though the romance is light, I'm going Itafushi with it, and probably Togemiki because that's a favourite ship I have lol, but I'm struggling a bit with Satoru? Like he and Shoko I think become kind of a thing again, although it's not quite as cut and dry as 'oh they're now romantically involved again', it's more like... we're now together in our grief
I'm also a big fan of Higuruma/Nanami, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go w/ that but Nanagosho is kinda like also poking at me
Because you have Nanami & Shoko, who got close in their respective last years at school (Shoko graduated a year early with Satoru and Nanami left after third year for a civilian degree) because Satoru was off and Haibara was dead and Suguru was a mass murderer, and Shoko's the one who told him to try getting out
And then you have Nanami and Gojo, and Satoru like...actively reached out to him after he and Shoko are on consistent speaking terms again and she tells him where Nanami vanished off to, and makes a weird (if annoying) attempt to like befriend him again, and that's why he's the first person Nanami calls because they have become friends in those years he was away
And then they co-parent two kids together, even if Nanami is slightly less involved and more of a Helpful Uncle Figure than Shoko who's in turn less involved than Gojo 'actually living in the same house' Satoru
Idk I also genuinely think that Nanami does like Satoru (slight rant incoming) - like, he doesn't take any of his shit, but that's mostly because he has correctly clocked that a lot of Satoru's behaviour is a shit coping mechanism and he's also fondly amused by the rest of his bullshit (and respects his ability to Keep The Kids Safe, and to be the adult figure that they were all lacking at school)
I just keep reading Fics where Nanami hates him and it's like...it's complicated, isn't it? But I don't think it was ever hate
