NaNo diary update:

So, I'm going faster than I originally intended. I was planning on a 25k words goal instead of the actual 50k. But then I wrote almost 2k words in the first day and went like "oh what if I go for the full 50k?"

But suddenly I have stuff to do irl and I fall behind on schedule, lmao.

Anyways, I have 4.5k words so far - which is a lot, considering my slow speed - and I'm half proud and half striving for more.

My editor is quite busy at the moment, but once she has free time, we'll post the chapters on AO3. The project itself is a fanfic so it's understandable if y'all wouldn't want to read it. But I probably won't be posting much over here until NaNo ends, and thought to tell you that if someone possibly might want to see more of my writing, message me and I'll give you the link.

P.S: No I definitely don't have an editor for the stuff I post here. She only helps me with my fanfics, haha.

NaNoWriMo Diary: Days 14-18

I’m still here and I’m still writing, honest!

Real life has taken its toll, unfortunately, and left me in a very stressful situation, so writing and Tumblr haven’t really been my priorities lately, and I haven’t been very motivated to write on any of the projects that I said I would work on this month. 

So I’ve changed my goals and I’m taking a new approach. I want to keep writing as an enjoyable experience that I do for the love of it, not something that I stress about or feel like a chore. 

So my new goal for NaNo is just to write 50,000 words on whatever I feel like writing, and to write and log words every single day.

After I made that new resolution last night, I then hammered out over 3000 words of an entirely self-indulgent hospital AU that will never see the light of day and exists only for my own pleasure, which really goes to show what I can achieve when I write what I want instead of what I feel I should...

Nanowrimo —Day 1

Only got to write about an hour today, but we’re starting off strong with 958 words! But I’ll have most of the day tomorrow to write so hopefully that number will jump a lot! 

I’m determined to not let Nano stress me out this year. I’m totally doing things at my own pace, and I’m proud for what I got today :)

I even asked her once to read my name and she read it as Jenn."

NaNoWriMo Diary: Day One

Well, I did not get off to the best of starts, thanks to spending most of the morning cleaning and battling my way around supermarkets, and once I did start writing, I kept getting distracted by other things. 

And then I watched The Greatest Store in the World whilst I was having dinner, and that made me want to re-read Everything Money Can Buy, so it was gone 9pm by the time I got round to writing again, and by that time, the muse had gone to bed. (I’m not sleeping well at the moment. Brain goes to bed early as a result.)

Anyway, I made a start, at least. I started one of my Lost fics (the Desmond/Penny/Claire one) and just kept plugging away at it, skipping forward every time I hit the wall on a scene. 

Tomorrow is another day, and I have it booked off work specifically to get writing done.

NaNoWriMo Diary: Days 7 & 8

So! Yesterday I got a bit of writing done in the morning (a monthly rumbelling fic which I posted earlier today) and wrote some longhand in the evening, because I was spending the afternoon demolishing a wall with a sledgehammer. Long story, but it was very satisfying, especially as we had just got the news that the election had finally been called for Biden, so we were letting out a lot of pent-up fear and stress about the result. 

(I am so grateful to the American electorate who made this possible right now.)

Anyway, today I was very tired and aching a lot after my sledgehammering, so I typed up yesterday’s longhand, and began the painstaking process of trying to pull all of my disparate scenes together, put them into chapters, and work out what I need to write to fill all the gaps. 

That’s now done. All I need to do is fill the gaps. (And, you know, write the rest of the damn fics.)

I wasn’t going to aim for any more, but I managed to get another 1000 or so words down. I’m chopping and changing between the D/P/C fic and the K/J fic at the moment depending on which one is easier to write. Right now it’s neither of them. 

*sigh*

Next week’s mission is filling in the gaps in the existing chapters.

NaNoWriMo Diary: Days 19-24

I haven’t really kept up to these posts lately because I’m not making progress on anything interesting, I’m just writing little bits and bobs of whatever takes my fancy. But I am still writing every day, and I am still on track to get to 50K before the end of the month. 

It’s been a difficult November with stress and depression, and I’m not out of the woods yet, but I’m still finding joy in writing when I can.

NaNoWriMo Diary: Days 10 & 11

*lets out noise akin to a helium balloon with a slow puncture*

I have not been feeling it these past couple of days. Still, I’ve managed to keep going and write every day. I’m determined to write every day this month, even if what I’m writing is utter rubbish. 

I’ve made more headway on the remaining Monthly Rumbelling fics for November, and I’ve made more headway on my fluffy DesmondxClaire fic. I am still managing to write that one in order with no gaps! The first two chapters are mainly somewhat angsty introspection from the two main characters, but with chapter three, they will hopefully start getting their act (and then their lips, and then their other body parts) together.
