I’m not a huge fan of chocolate. Like I don’t hate it (except dark chocolate, which I do hate, because it’s just not sweet enough and if I’m having dessert, it’d better be fucking sweet, and anything else is fucking an offensive liar that should not be called candy), but it doesn’t really do much for me (exception for white chocolate which I fucking love).
10 times out of 10, I’d rather have an oatmeal raisin cookie than a chocolate chip one. I’d rather have yellow cake over chocolate cake (and in fact, on my family’s birthday parties when they make chocolate cake, I just don’t have any, and eat ice cream instead), and I haven’t eaten chocolate ice cream in years. Occasionally I’ll eat milk chocolate, if it’s around, but it’s not something I really go out and specifically seek out, unless it has something in it that I want (e.g. I like Reeses cups for the weird not-peanut-butter-I-don’t-care-what-you-say filling, or I fucking love the Ghirardelli chocolate squares with caramel in them that come in the yellow-gold packaging)
On the bright side, this also means that I don’t end up eating some things that aren’t necessary. Like if there’s chocolate cake around, it’s not a temptation for me at all. Even yellow cake with chocolate icing isn’t really something where I need to eat it.
