wip wednesday for the first time in. a million years

i caught up with msq and then lost my mind alsdkfjlsdkjf we'll see if this goes anywhere but this is from my post-7.4 raheni reunion wip:

"Rheni," G'raha answers, easily ushering him in. "Is all well?" "Yes. Sorry, I didn't mean to worry you." "Ah, so this is a social call?" Anyone else would miss the hairsbreadth pause in G'raha's movements as he begins reassessing Rheni's presence in his room. As someone who has studied G'raha Tia enough to earn an archon mark, however, Rheni notices. Rheni clears his throat. "Yes. If that is alright with you."

i don't have a Ton to share bc i haven't been working on my wip as much in the last week but :>

Placing his bow carefully to one side, he rises to his full height and looks down his nose at X’rheni. X’rheni refuses to move backwards, making the two of them near enough for Silvairre to feel the heat radiating off of him. Silvairre is not used to being in such close proximity with others, much less with those he dislikes; his skin itches and he feels a full-body flush rise to the surface. Instead of focusing on his own discomfort, however, he savours the way X’rheni must incline his head to meet his gaze.

Rheni laid sprawled out beneath him as G’raha carefully bracketed his hips. Though their bodies had finally more or less healed, there still existed a tentative tenderness between them, both hesitant to touch lest the other vanish at the contact. G’raha studied the warm expanse of Rheni’s skin, memorising the scars that littered it. Over the last few centuries, in stolen private moments when he would allow his mind to stray from his goal, he wondered what Rheni looked like under his armour, stripped bare of plate, chainmail, and façade. Now that he could see, he did not wish to look at anything else.  “I have no right to ask more of you but if you are willing, will you tell me of your scars? I would know the stories behind them.”
