that post you reblogged with squick is gross and you should probably delete it?? its really harmful and places unfair standards on what a trigger is. it's demeaning and places even more stigma and scrutiny on the use of the word.

i guess i can see where you're coming from but I think that it is important to distinguish between what is unsettling to someone and what throws someone into a volatile fit, usually closely related to PTSD, which is a psychological disorder that NEEDS to have standards/symptoms.

I mean if you're sad for a day and tell everyone you're depressed, well, that's not really depression, that's being sad for a day, if you're sad for weeks or even months with no end then you are depressed. I think it's a fair line between serious cases and not as serious cases. of course this doesn't mean I'm okay with violating either a trigger or a squick for someone, this just means I think it's important to distinguish the level of care and severity between the two.

his hawkeye name would def be an H on the forehead but i think he would jokingly refer to himself with an 'L' because he likes to self deprecate though no one else would refer to him that way

Maybe when he and Barney were first learning how to sign (since they were kids and kids are little punks) and had no decided name signs yet, Barney would fingerspell out C-L-I-N-T but he would sign the L up on his forehead like for loser(it's probably means something in ASL too but I don't know it) and in retaliation, Clint would spell out B-A-R-N-E-Y with the B on his chin because that's ASL for bitch
