【 ♕ 】 Damn, she knew he was quite odd, but she didn't know this was the reason for it. She just thought he was a foreigner, and though she was technically right, he truly wasn’t from anywhere Fionn had known. It was somewhere she completely avoided, so it was no wonder she knew nothing about his mannerisms.
Not that she could really know much about his. . . people, or how they acted. The only thing she would know about the ocean would be the fish that lived in it. And that was another reason she stayed away from it. All the creepy creatures were things she couldn’t deal with. They freaked her out too much, and were another reason she hated the ocean like she did.
❝ S-so you’re a. . . a fish? ❞ No, stupid, he wasn’t just a fish, he was a mixture of human and fish. She winced at her own words, cursing herself repeatedly for how ridiculous she sounded. ❝ No, you’re from the stories. You’re a M E R M A I D. ❞
But how? Those were things that weren’t supposed to exist, except in her ridiculous little stories. They weren’t supposed to be real, but rather things to help kids with their fantasy. What kind of kid didn’t want to be a mermaid, after all? Excluding her, of course. She was never truly allowed to be a kid.
